Susana was very helpful, let me bring my luggage early, set me up with a dance lesson, room was nice. No problems at all. The casa and the hostess are top quality in havanna vieja. Susana speaks english and will give some nice tips with regards to restaurants, cocktail bars and things to visit. Comparing to our other casa in havanna, Susana had a better location, room and was a better hostess. Very good price/quality How was your room?: The room is right next to the main street obispo and has a nice rooftop to chill on. The room itself has a very nice bathroom and an own WiFi point! How was the food they offer?: The breakfast is unique and simple, perfect to get you started. My review: Susana is an excellent host & made us feel welcomed. She's hilarious and down to earth and we spent a lot of time laughing in her company. She immediately offered us water and a shot of rum and gave us a lot of great recommendations of what to do around Havana, including the Museo de Chocolate which we had to go back to twice because it was delicious. She arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport and covered the cost so we didn't have to worry about changing money until after we were settled in and could pay her back after. We were right in the heart of her apartment, under her room and next to the living room and kitchen, but we felt so comfortable with her (and cousin) that it was like we were staying with a friend. Location is great in Habana Vieja and at any given moment we could go see live music down Obispo street. Many points of interest were also nearby. Susana also arranged a private car to Viñales for a day trip which saved us some money on what we would've spent through a tour. Her recommendations were very helpful in general and helped make our first experience in Havana a great one. How was your room?: The room was clean and simple and spacious for 2 people. There were 2 fans (no AC but we felt comfortable at night with the fans). It had access to a balcony to people watch outside. There was construction happening in the apartment but it didn't affect our room or our stay. The bathroom is usually shared but we were the only guests at the time due to the construction. The room is in the heart of the apartment, in which Susana also resides, but our space and privacy were always respected. How was the food they offer?: We got our meals at nearby places but every morning Susana or her cousin would bring us coffee (the most delicious coffee we ever tasted). Susana also would offer us shots of rum throughout our stay. Other services they offer: Arrange airport taxi. Arrange taxi for Viñales day trip. Other comments: Susana is awesome! My review about the casa: La casa è carina, muri molto alti, e tanto luminosa. Susana è davvero simpatica, parla italiano, inglese e spagnolo e da ottimi consigli su cosa visitare e dove andare a mangiare. How was your room?: La nostra stanza era molto grande, cosi come il bagno. Unica pecca la mancanza di finestre ma nel complesso ci siamo trovati molto bene, con l'aria condizionata How was the food they offer?: Per 5 cuc abbiamo fatto colazione, i succhi appena fatti, con frutta fresca...veramente una bomba! E il caffè...cosi buono più trovato. Susana and her casa were perfect! This was the best casa I stayed in throughout my whole trip to Cuba. The casa is in a perfect location, just minutes from Calle Obispo, the main street in Old Havana. It was a beautiful old colonial building in perfect condition, and nicely decorated. Susana and her cousin took really good care of me. When I arrived Susana sat down with my map with me and pointed out all the good locations for eating, drinking etc. I was travelling alone for the first couple of days and unfortunately my US card didn't work there, and they went above and beyond to help me out! They payed my taxi driver from the airport, they gave me delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners on the house, and Susana even leant me 20cuc for the day (luckily my friend was arriving that eve so she was able to reimburse Susana for the taxi etc). Susana went out of her way to make sure there was a taxi to collect my friend from the airport, despite us not having any flight details. She even texted my friend from her phone as mine didn't work over there. She refilled my water bottle with cold water whenever she saw it empty. She gave me avocado with dinner when I told her I loved it when I arrived. She helped arrange my taxi to Vinales on the last day, and my casa there. We had a lovely room with a balcony out onto the street, a powerful warm shower, and great breakfasts every morning- How was your room?: Lovely, double bed, balcony onto the street, very clean and bright. How was the food they offer?: Great! Lovely breakfast and pork with rice, beans and avocado for dinner. Susana and her cousins sat down and ate with me. They even gave me some local dessert wine! Since April 2012, I have visited Cuba regularly, each time staying in Habana Vieja at the start and end of my stay. In Habana, I will never need to contact anyone but Susanna for accommodation and other assistance that I might need. Susanna is spectacular, and she offers the highest level of warm hearted, efficient hospitality and service. How was your room?: Excellent. I took some of the photos in the profile for this Casa - love that room. How was the food they offer?: Superb. Susanna has a good understanding of and appreciation for restricted diets and will accommodate as needed. let her know in advance. Other services they offer: Susanna has provided logistics coordination support for some big name photographers, businesses and demanding tourists- and they are repeat clients. She knows the Island, speaks English well, and if she cannot answer or help you with a specific need, she will find something for you. She makes sure that you are taken care of. Other comments: Location is amazing: right downtown Habana Vieja, near parquet Centrale, Obispo Street, the Maleçon, restaurants, galleries, museums, and a short bike taxi ride away from the bus and train stations. My review about the casa: It was great experience to speak with other people at the casa. I highly recommend to stay at the casa beca Top of that, Location is very close to a lot of sightseeing places . We did not know where to visit but Susana was very kind to give us suggestions on where to go in Havana and showed on the map. My review is that you could get to know people and if you , have questions, you could ask them and get info right away. How was your room?: The guest room is big, nice and clean. The description of the casa at Cuba Junky says it all, spot on in Havana Old center, nice host, Susana works pretty efficient. How was your room?: Nice and clean. How was the food they offer?: We had dinner at a paladar called El Shamuskia'o, brillant food, very cheap. Other services they offer: The airport service was on time, he drove a comfortable classic car. Other comments: Some cabby's got confused with the 1 direction Streets of Old Havana.
