They have two rooms available, each with air conditioning, two double beds, bathroom with shower and refrigerator. The food is excellent, well prepared, fresh, plentiful and based on season. The price of 55CUC per couple includes three meals, but no alcoholic beverages or soft drinks. Secure parking is available inside their compound at no charge. It is a quiet neighbourhood, two streets up from the beach.

lovely casa, with a very friendly host.  2 rooms available.  very close to the centre of town and the bus station, but also nice and quiet.
we stayed here for 3 nights.  there is a nice roof terrace where we had dinner each night.
a small amount of english spoken, but with our small amount of spanish and sign language everythingw orked out just fine.  alberto went out of his way to help us arrange laundry and accomodation on our next stop in camaguey - a fantastic host.

Casa style: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Safe

Amenities: Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Laundry service, Balcony

How was your room?: The room was downstairs.  Clean and tidy.  2 beds (double and a single) and airconditioning (which we didn't use as it was winter).  Ensuite bathroom with a good shower.

How was the food the offer?: Food was great.  We ate breakfast and dinner here each day during our stay and both were great.  The only problem was there was far too much food!  my wife battled with an enormous lobster one evening, but i think the lobster got the upper hand/claw.

Other services they offer: We were running out of clean clothes, but we were able to arrange for our laundry to be done here.  We were a bit disorganised and didn't give much notice, but even though we were leaving on an early bus, the laundry appeared - fantastic service.

Fantastic stay with Josey and Fatima and family. The rooms were spotless with balcony overlooking garden. The food was excellent especially the breakfasts. Situated 6 blocks from plaza mayor but since Trinidad is so small this is still on few minutes walk to centre. Strongly recommended

We really are made to feel at home and comfortable in this cuban home.  Also, if they are full they will help you find another casa in the barrio.

We felt at home in this casa but because we had limited time we only stayed one night. We really would recommend this casa if you are going to Trinidad. Price 25 CUC per night, breakfast 4 CUC per person, diner 8-12 CUC.

We have stayed 2 nights in lovely Trinidad in this centrally located casa, opposite casa de la Trova and close to the Plaza Mayor and the stairs with live music. The price was 25 / night with 8 for a dinner and 4 for a breakfast.

The host (Rafael) speaks both English and German and is a little eccentric but is definitely very friendly. He gave us some advice on where to go and even some lessons about cigars! The room is clean, has airco and ventilator. The bathroom is spacious and also clean. The food was ok. The best part of this casa is that it's so close to the stairs next to the church where they have live music which you can hear all day long (first the practice sessions, and later at night the performances)

Casa Particular Smith, Odalis Gonzalez
Address: Callejon Smith 3
between Antonio Maceo and Jesus Menendez
Trinidad
Tel: 041 994060

We can only recommend Odalis' casa in Trinidad.
It is located right in the centre of the town, only a few minutes from Plaza Mayor. We found it difficult to get around in Trinidad by car but once you are there, you can book a garage upon request.
Odalis and her father Jorge were extremely friendly and hospitable, and did everything to make us feel welcome.
The casa has a wonderful patio where you can enjoy the meals or just relax.
The room was comfortable with AC and its own bathroom.
Don't miss the food - breakfast is prepared with delicious fruits, some from their own garden, and they also cook dishes like lobster for dinner.
We give Casa Smith 5 out of 5 stars and look forward to return.
PS: Just an advice - owners of Casa Particulares pay many taxes every month, regardless of whether they have guests or not. Therefore, remember to treat the Casa owners with courtesy - for instance by remembering to cancel your booking in case you can't make it, and by not trying to haggle over the prices. It is great value for money anyway.

I would like to recommend CASA ILEANA in Trinidad, we spent 4 days with this very nice Trinidad family, the room was very clean with good beds and the bathroom was as good as it gets in Cuba, fully tiled and clean with plenty enough hot water for the 3 of us. Lily took good care of us with huge breakfasts and diners that sustained us so well we didn't need to stop for lunch during the day!  We got to sample interesting new and delicious vegetables like malanga and taro root and the shrimps, fish and chicken were delicious. We didn't try the Langousta that was out of season and frozen then but our friend who referred us was raving about it. Her father helped us a lot with our travel planning an had crucial information on the actual state of the roads not always available on the travel guides. They even cleaned our laundry so we went home we a full suitcase of clean clothing. The whole family was genuinely friendly even Joni, the little dachshund greats you with a "smile" he is the casa ambassador! Take a look at the Guest book, everybody is raving about him! The whole Hernandez family took care of our young daughter as if she was their own, she found a playmate in Christian the son of the house and of course Joni the dog, always ready for a hug. To top it up, they were happy to take care of her while we went out at night.

They are situated in the heart of the old city, both rooms are on the patio and it is very quiet. The only place in Cuba where I could remove my ear plugs and be able to sleep ;-)

'I was really impressed'

Casa Familia Miguel A. Suarez del Villar Mauri
Address: Calle Gustavo Izquierdo No. 119
entre Simon Bolivar y Piro Guinart
Trinidad, S.S. Cuba C-P 62600
(opposite to the famous fancy restaurant called Don Antonio)
Tel : +53 5 2474272

Hi all,

My partner and I have come back from our 8-day Cuba trip.  We went to Trinidad from Havana via Viazul bus as many backpackers do.

I would like to recommend you a terrific casa - Casa Familia Miguel A. Suarez del Villar Mauri.

It is a beautiful colonial house right next to the bus station and opposite to a big restaurant called Don Antonio - the house is really big, pretty and eye-catching with its yellow window frames.  For sure no one can miss it!

We have stayed there for one night.  We had a real big room (2 double beds, private bathroom with hot water - btw the bathroom is bigger and cleaner than any hotel bathrooms I have ever booked!  I was really impressed).

The good things about this are that it is extraordinarily clean and tidy, very peaceful (the owner Miguel has 2 obedient dogs and some birds, you can imagine how great it is to just sit in the courtyard / garden in the house and enjoy the time & the serenity of the birds), comfortable, convenient and price is reasonable (CUC25 - CUC30 per room - given its perfect location, size and cleanliness, it definitely worths more than the price range!).

Miguel speaks English.  He is a very friendly, generous and nice host.  He's a bit shy and he never goes to the bus station to drag tourists to stay in his casa (unlike some of the other casa owners in Trinidad).  Both my partner and I like this gentleman and his house a lot.  Too bad that we really wish to stay in his place for a bit longer but we got to continue our journey to Varadero.

It is noted that his dogs are not those threatening hostile type.  I personally scare of dogs a lot (seriously, I am really afraid) but the two little dogs are just lovely and manageable.

If you happen to go to Trinidad, you may want to check out this casa.  It is the best casa in Cuba we have stayed in.  It might also be the best accommodation I have ever had through my backpacking travel experience.

Enjoy Cuba everyone =)

Cheers,
Kafei
